From wheeled suitcases to backpacks bigger than children when it comes to packing for playgroup we’ve seen it all! But knowing what to pack for a whole day away from home really can be quite tricky so here’s some top tips to help make things a little easier.
✅ Outdoor Gear - Wellies and Waterproofs are an absolute must! Top parent tip… Get a cheap second pair to keep at Playgroup! There is nothing worse than planning an impromptu evening puddle walk and realising your wellies are still at playgroup!!
✅ Clothes - At least 1 full change of clothes, including pants and socks. If newly potty trained we recommend 2 sets of bottom halves (pants, trousers & socks)
❌ Toys - Other than a particular comfort item if needed, we strongly recommend that toys and nick nacks stay at home. They are easily lost or mixed up with playgroup toys and can cause arguments between friends.
✅ Nappies - If your little one is still in nappies please make sure their bag is packed with the full changing kit and caboodle. Nappies, wipes, nappy sacks and if needed your child’s nappy cream. Wherever possible pull ups are preferred as it allows your child to be a little more independent.
✅ Weather Appropriate Clothing - Sunhats and suncream or Hats and gloves! Who knows what the British weather may throw at us.
❌ Shoes with laces - We try and encourage the children to be as independent as possible and so shoes they can manage themselves are always preferred. Velcro is your friend!
✅ NAMES NAMES NAMES! Whatever is in your child’s bag make sure they are named to avoid any mix ups.
