The children have really settled in well to playgroup and are embracing all the opportunities we present them with! The children enjoy choosing their favourite activities and sharing them with their friends.
Look at all these great activities! The children working hard and are developing their communication and language skills, fine and gross motor skill as well as maths, literacy, art and design and understanding the world around them..... and the best part, as far as the children know, all they are doing is having fun!
On a Wednesday afternoon we have our pre-school session, where our pre-school children focus on developing the skills they will need for school. Over the last couple of weeks we have been looking at our physical development. These fine motor skills were great fun and all of our pre-school children showed amazing dexterity and focus! Fine motor control is so important to develop the muscles in their hands which will really help when it comes to holding a pencil and forming letters.
Autumn has well and truly hit us, such a great time in any early years setting! Conkers, acorns, leaves and pumpkins make such great natural resources, so if you happen to be taking a stroll through the woods (deep, dark or otherwise) consider grabbing a handful of conkers to play with at home!
