What do we do at Playgroup?

Outdoor play

We are very luck to have a secret playground, tucked away behind the Church where we spend much of our time on the equipment and in the mud kitchen.

Music

A particular feature of Amberley playgroup is the music and singing. Our sessions end with 20 minutes of ‘music and movement’ often accompanied by a member of staff on the piano.

Storytime

Every session involves a bit of quiet time on the carpet, either looking at books or listening to the teachers read a story to the group.

The playgroup sessions involve a wide variety of activities that have been carefully planned to be fun, stimulating and a great learning experience, often using the beautiful outside space that surrounds the building. So varied are our activities, there are too many to mention, but some of the regular fixtures are described here.

The infamous Show!

The children also perform a wonderful ‘show’ at the end of each term. This provides the children with a unique confidence boosting experience, that gives great joy and many happy memories to parents and grandparents!

Special events

From our summer Sports Day to our traditional Christmas Lunch and visit from Father Christmas, our Playgroup calendar has many special extra experiences to excite the children. The valuable fundraising undertaken by our Playgroup Committee and Families helps fund these events.
